Clara Hong: In a Snap
Juggling life as final-year university student and a freelance graphic designer, 21 year-old Clara Hong keeps fit in the studio and rocks fresh kicks on Instagram that are often photographed by one of our favorite street style photographers Tim Suen, who also happens to be her other half.
Bringing fashion and fitness together through her aesthetic, Clara embodies a style blending form and function, influenced by the practical roots of street fashion. This week, we catch up with Clara for her take on waking up, style boo-boos and favourite labels.
What’s keeping you busy these days?
I’ve been juggling my last semester at university with freelance graphic design work.
What are your usual workouts? Any activities you particularly enjoy, in and out of the gym/studio?
I usually do a combination of yoga and HIIT workouts at various studios! If I’m way too busy, I’ll usually slot in a 10-minute yoga session at home.
Are you a night owl or a morning person? What keeps you up in the morning/night?
I’d say that I’m a morning person, because I’m usually fast asleep by 1am. The sun’s rays wake me up in the morning, but Netflix is usually responsible for keeping me awake late at night.
It’s 4am on a Saturday night. What would you eat?
Chicken McNuggets on cheat days and muesli with soy milk on good days.
What do you love about street fashion?
I love its fluidity and ever-changing nature! I love how it’s constantly influenced by so many forces — music, art, fitness and even luxury fashion.
