When a personal trainer and a F45 coach start to date, you can only imagine how big of a role fitness plays in their relationship. We speak to this dynamic duo to find out more about their relationship with each other, and with fitness.

Which one of you started working out first?

Josh: It depends on what you mean - I never used to exercise as a child, so Nat probably takes it. But if you mean going to the gym and actually working out - that’d be me😎

Nat: I’ve always been active growing up! I used to spend Sunday mornings in the pool taking swimming lessons. When I was slightly older, I would join my mom at yoga and body combat classes. But Josh is right, I didn’t start going to the gym and lifting weights till I met him.

Do you guys get competitive? And who is more competitive?

Josh: Generally speaking, I would say I’m the more competitive one, so I like to compete with everyone on everything.😂Nat’s anaerobic work capacity is pretty good so it’s normally quite a fair fight / we both tend to compete with each other during HIIT classes.

Nat: Josh is naturally stronger, so I definitely wouldn’t compete with him on that front! 😂 But we’ve both got a competitive streak, and I pick my battles. For example, I’m almost always able to do more burpees than Josh.

What is your favourite memory of working out together?

Nat: I view working out together as a shared activity that gives us the opportunity to bond as a couple over a common interest! Years back, I stepped into the gym for the first time because I was curious as to why Josh, who was my then boyfriend, was spending hours at the gym. The first couple of gym sessions where he taught me how to lift, are probably my favorite memories!

Josh: Coaching Nat to hit her deadlift PR of 120kg. That’s my favourite (and proudest) memory working out together:)
