Describe Yoga on the Lane in three words?
Compassion, sanctuary, community.
What inspired you to open Yoga on the Lane?
There comes a point in your life when you need to make a shift. I had a good ten years of teaching under my belt and I was reflecting on my life, working out how what I wanted to create. I decided I wanted to build a studio that would be space without compromise, with community at the forefront and a focus on the therapeutic side of yoga.
What styles of yoga do you offer?
Our staple class is our Dynamic Yoga, which is mindful, breath-led, slow, alignment focused vinyasa and we don’t deviate from that. Other than for our Flow and Restore, Yoga Nidra and meditation courses.
What does community mean to you?
Community means everything to us at Yoga on the Lane. The studio has been a place that has seen so many amazing relationships flourish. We’ve found that there’s nothing better than finding people who make your heart sing and sharing what you love with them.
We heard you have a new book out soon! Can you tell us more about it?
I do have a book coming out soon. It’s called Yoga: A Manual for Life and it’s a practice companion designed to help you to live better in the modern world. It looks gorgeous, I was so lucky to get to work with amazingly talented photographers, illustrators and designers. It’s full of tips on how to live a more balanced, grounded life. To wake up feeling energised, calm an anxious mind, sleep better and feel inspired.
